๐Ÿ“Œ Failed Pinterest Project.. REALLY?

this is really interesting case study..!

In partnership with

HELLO AGAIN!

I need to share something with you today. A "failed" Pinterest project that keeps making me money every single month.

Sounds weird, right? Let me explain.

The Numbers That Tell The Real Story

Here's the breakdown of this so-called "failure":

  • Total Investment: $4,500

  • Total Revenue (So Far): $6,500+

  • Current Monthly Income: ~$400 (completely passive)

  • Articles Published: 460 Pinterest-focused blog posts

  • Total Traffic Generated: ~500,000 pageviews

  • Current Daily Traffic: 1,000+ pageviews from Pinterest alone

  • Time Spent in Last 13-14 Months: Almost zero

Read that last line again. I haven't touched this project in over a year. And it still sends me $400 every month.

Why I Call It A "Failure"

The RPMs are low. Like really low. $11 on average.

My other Pinterest blogs hit $17-$35 RPMs. Some even higher during Q4. So when I look at this site, I see missed potential.

I could be making $800-$1,200 monthly with better RPMs. That's the opportunity cost.

With my usual Pinterest blogs, I see 7x to 10x ROI. That's my benchmark. That's what I expect.

This one? Not hitting that standard. So in my head, it's a "failure."

But here's where things get interesting...

The Math Doesn't Lie

Let me break this down for you:

Investment: $4,500

Already Made: $6,500

Profit So Far: $2,000+

Still Making Monthly: $400

Potential Flip Value: $8,000 - $10,000

If I flip this site tomorrow at 25x monthly revenue, I'm looking at $10,000. Add the $6,500 I've already made? That's $16,500 from a $4,500 investment.

Is that a failure? I don't think so.

The Bigger Picture

This blog brings in traffic from three main channels:

Pinterest (Referral): 176,367 sessions (23.16%)

Google (Organic): 157,376 sessions (20.67%)

Direct Traffic: 120,844 sessions (15.87%)

+50k Pageviews from other sources.

Pinterest remains the top traffic driver. And here's what my Pinterest analytics show over the last 30 days:

All metrics going up. Without me doing anything.

Here's What This Actually Proves

Pinterest blogging has almost no downside. Think about it.

Even my "worst" project is profitable. Still making money. Still growing. And I can sell it anytime for 20-25x monthly revenue.

Where else can you invest $4,500 and get:

  • Your money back plus profit

  • Passive monthly income

  • An asset you can flip for 2x your investment

The answer? Very few places.

Display Ads (Main) are main income. Then we have some money guest posts and affialite.

Not life-changing numbers. But not bad for something I built once and forgot about.

What Would I Do Differently?

Pick a niche with higher RPMs. That's it.

The system works. The process works. Pinterest traffic is reliable.

I just picked a niche that advertisers don't pay much for. Lesson learned. Moving on.

Fresh Client Results (This Is What Success Looks Like)

Speaking of what's possible when things go right...

I just closed out a client project. Results?

Starting Point: 6,000 monthly pageviews

After Working Together: 50,000+ monthly pageviews

That's 8x growth. Real traffic. Real results.

And this isn't unusual. My last client case study showed 120.9% Pinterest traffic growth in just 3 months.

Your Turn

What do you think? Is a project that:

  • Made back its investment

  • Generates passive income

  • Can be sold for 2x the initial cost

  • Requires zero ongoing work

...really a failure?

I'm curious. Reply and tell me your thoughts.
